What is the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka?
Meet the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka, the Russian Colored Lapdog — a little dog with a very big heart ❤️
Originally developed in Russia as a true companion breed, the Tsvetnaya Bolonka was designed to thrive right by your side. This toy-sized pup is known for its soft, wavy or curly coat (in a variety of beautiful colors), expressive eyes, and an endlessly affectionate personality. The Bolonka is from the Bichon family of dogs.
Bolonki are gentle, people-oriented, and deeply loyal. They love being involved in everyday life—whether that means curling up on the couch or following you from room to room. Despite their small size, they’re confident, intelligent, and surprisingly adaptable, making them wonderful companions for apartments, families, singles, and seniors alike.
One of the breed’s biggest charms is its temperament: friendly without being yappy, playful without being overwhelming, and calm enough to be an excellent emotional companion. They tend to bond closely with their humans and are happiest when included as part of the family.
The Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka isn’t just a pet—it’s a devoted little shadow, a comforter, and a joyful presence wrapped in curls. Simply Bolonka is a collection of some of the Best Bolonki Pedigrees from Russian and European kennels.
A Dream Realized: My First True Bred-By Litter
There are moments in a breeder's journey that hold a particularly special place in the heart. Today, I am blessed to celebrate one of those moments, the arrival of my very first true bred-by litter of Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka puppies.
What makes this litter especially meaningful is that I am not only the breeder of these precious puppies, but also the breeder of both their sire and dam, Colin and Rina. This carefully planned natural breeding took place on August 9 and 11, 2026, with the hope of bringing together the beautiful qualities, soundness, and temperaments I have worked so diligently to preserve. To see the next generation of my own breeding program come into the world is a joy that is difficult to put into words.
My journey began in the early autumn of 2022, when I purchased and imported my foundation Bolonka from Angelina Dąbska, Bon-Ton Kennel in Poland. From the very beginning, my vision was to breed Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka that honor the breed standard and embody the qualities that make this remarkable little breed so special.
Beautiful, expressive headpieces; lovely, large, loose curls and flowing waves; sound conformation; graceful, effortless movement with rear drive; and, above all, the wonderful temperaments that are the very heart of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka.
These are the qualities I cherish, the qualities I strive to preserve, and the foundation upon which I hope to build for generations to come.
First and foremost, I give thanks to God for His many blessings, for guiding me along this journey, and for entrusting these beautiful little lives to my care.
I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated breeders whose knowledge, commitment, and beautiful dogs have helped make this dream possible. I am especially grateful to Bon-Ton Kennel for the wonderful foundation with which my journey began.
Breeding is not simply about producing puppies. It is about honoring the past, thoughtfully planning for the future, and accepting the responsibility of preserving the qualities of a breed we dearly love.
From the foundation I began with in 2022, to Colin and Rina, and now to these precious new lives, this is more than a litter. It is the beginning of a legacy. One female and One male born October 9, 2026.
With a grateful heart, I look forward to watching the next generation unfold.
